North Hertfordshire Homes working with Hill Partnerships  as contractor will develop a rural exception site in the sought after village of Shepreth South Cambridgeshire. The scheme is for 12 houses on Meldreth Road with all units offered for affordable rent. The development will address housing need as identified in a recent Housing Needs survey, undertaken by Cambridgeshire Acre. A planning application is currently being drawn up, with a submission imminent. Once a formal indication of planning has been submitted a bid for grant funding will be made to the Homes and Communities agency, this will enable a Start on Site in summer 2010.

West Bedford

North Hertfordshire Homes are working with David Wilson Homes Ltd to provide a scheme of 41 new houses and flats to the West of Bedford between Kempston and Biddenham.

The units are one phase of many parcels of new housing that will be built on this key strategic site.

The 41 properties will be offered to local residents and a mix of tenures will be available, including general needs rent, intermediate rent and shared ownership.

However NHH have revised this planning permission and resubmitted to produce a scheme which better suits our needs. The proposal is to build four one-bedroom flats for social rent.

North Hertfordshire Homes are working with BW Construction Ltd (Contractor based in Luton) to provide a scheme for 14 new flats for rent. This centrally located scheme is only 1 mile from Luton town centre and is well connected to all transport links. All units will be offered to local residents as general needs rent. The developer has full planning permission and has now started work on site. Completion of the flats is due in autumn 2010.
