The site previously housed derelict garages. The garages were demolished in 2004 because their condition was poor and they were causing nuisance to neighbouring residents.

The site is situated within easy access of Hitchin Town Centre and Hitchin Train Station. There are local shops and a community centre near by.

Consultation with residents will be carried out during Spring/Summer 2007
