- New Development Meets Residents Approval -
22 November 2007
North Hertfordshire Homes recently held a consultation event to unveil plans for the new bespoke extra-care housing scheme for older people in Baldock.
As part of the plans to improve the provision for older people across the region, NHH have pledged to replace the existing Temple Court scheme in Baldock with a brand new modern facility. The new building will be built on the site of the former homeless hostel, Beechridge Lodge, which is adjacent to the current site of Temple Court. The new design is much more light and airy with wider corridors, and all flats will have state of the art, disabled friendly facilities. There will also be a dedicated care team based at the scheme to provide care services.
The event was an opportunity to give tenants, their families and local residents a chance to view & comment on initial plans. “We were delighted with the number of people who attended and their positive response to our initial designs. We intend to incorporate their feedback, where possible, into the final plans before submitting them for approval with the planner.” says Teresa Gore, Development Project Manager. The new scheme is due to open in 2009.
