Youth Comment

Youth Comment

One of our goals is to provide a forum where young people aged between 14 – 17 years old can share their ideas and tell us what they really think. As the future of our communities we feel their opinions are important and should be heard.

Our aim is to:

  • Provide a direct link between this group and NHH.
  • Allow them to set discussion topics for meetings
  • Seek representation from young people in all sections of our communities
  • Provide practical advice and information on relevant issues
  • Make meetings informal

We intend to set up around four meetings a year and discuss issues that affect young people such as, noise, congregating youth and other nuisance.
Our aim is to reach as many young people as possible. To achieve this, we are constantly assessing our plans and how we set up meetings from seeking representatives in secondary schools and holding local meetings. Last year, the Grange Youth Forum received funding from the Big Lottery Fund, NHH and NHDC towards the provision of a youth play area in the central Grange.
