HomeSwapper is a service to help you swap your home with another tenant – a “mutual exchange” – and North Hertfordshire Homes, together with North Hertfordshire District Council and Howard Cottage Housing Association, has partnered with Scout Solutions Limited to provide this on-line service free to all our tenants.

HomeSwapper is the largest mutual exchange service in the UK with thousands joining every month. HomeSwappers literature claims that “two out of three registrants are matched to potential swaps within 24 hours!” The opportunity to find a match is increased by:

• Any tenant from any social landlord can register
• You can swap with tenants of any registered social landlord, not just North Hertfordshire Homes.
• HomeSwapper covers the whole of the UK, so you can find swaps locally or nationally.

You can search for homes at www.homeswapper.co.uk without registering. Search results even include maps to help you work out the location of the home you may want to swap to.

If you register, HomeSwapper will automatically search every night for potential new swaps that meet your requirements and these can be viewed in your private area of the website at anytime.

HomeSwapper will send alerts of potential new swaps by weekly emails (if you have email) or text messaging fortnightly (if you have a mobile phone).

To join the scheme, register at www.homeswapper.co.uk stating that North Hertfordshire Homes is your landlord, and you can select up to 9 areas where you would consider living.

Please Note: If you were previously registered with the Homeswap scheme, you will need to re-register with HomeSwapper as, due to Data Protection, your information cannot be transferred over.

Don’t forget – you must not exchange properties with anyone without first obtaining written permission from both Landlords. All applications will be subject to the qualifying criteria.
