Resident Involvement

How To Get Involved

We believe that our tenants and customers should be at the heart of everything we do that affects them – this way we can deliver the best possible services to our residents. This means knowing what they want and listening to what they have to say.

We are committed to providing ways of increasing their involvement so they can play a part in the big decisions about what is important to them and the way that we deliver our services.

For more information on how you can get involved download our Resident Involvement leaflet.
Resident Involvement Statement

This statement has been developed with members of the Tenants Panel and Tenants Forum. It sets out how we will put residents at the heart of our work by keeping them informed and giving them ways to get involved in what we do. This includes how tenant involvement is resourced, measured, monitored and reviewed. To find out more, download a copy of our
Resident Involvement Statement.

Tenant Panel

We have set up the Tenants Panel to provide you with opportunities to get involved in ways that suit you. You can do a much or as little as you wish – the important thing for us is that you have your say.

If you would like to join the Tenants Panel, download, complete and post to us the Have Your Say form.

Tenant Forum

Twenty tenants meet with managers on a quarterly basis to scrutinise and comment on the services provided by NHH. This includes:
• Reviewing how our services are performing
• Discussing service issues of importance to tenants
• Helping us improve the services we provide
• Approving Neighbourhood Improvement Budget projects

This meeting is also attended by NHH Board members and the minutes of the meeting are considered at regular Board meetings.

Service Working Groups

Five working groups meet with managers on a quarterly basis to look at key service areas in detail. These are:

• Customer Services – to ensure we are offering the levels of service our tenants expect
• Resident Involvement – looking specifically at how we develop and review NHH’s resident involvement work
• Neighbourhoods – looking at anti-social behaviour, estate conditions & services
• Procurement – to ensure we get value for money on our tenants behalf
• Repairs & Maintenance – to ensure the service we provide meets tenants needs

These groups look at proposals to improve the service and issues of importance to residents as well as monitoring performance and standards.

Leaseholder Forum

The Leaseholder Forum meets every two months with leaseholder representatives and staff. This provides a focus for our contact with leaseholders. All ideas and suggestion discussed at the Forum are sent out to every individual leaseholder inviting them to comment.

Tenant & Resident Associations

Meet with other residents and members of staff to address issues of concern about the area you live in and the service we provide. These meetings can be held where and when you and other residents wish. We will support you in organising and arranging these meetings.
